God knows this enough
Hurt never leaves broken hearts;
Time does allow us
To focus on other things
While still living in the pain.
You are never left
Outside center of my thoughts,
Where your residence
Became before I saw you,
A dream within my dreaming.
I feel depression
Pulling me under covers,
Swaddling me in gray;
As the sky prepares to rain
My eyes close, a little death.
